The Grand Windsor Ballroom shimmered beneath magnificent crystal chandeliers as the city's wealthiest families gathered to celebrate Sophia Harrington's twenty-fifth birthday. Elegant music floated through the air while waiters gracefully served champagne to hundreds of distinguished guests. Everything looked flawless, like a fairy tale brought to life.

Among the staff was a quiet young waitress named Anna. She had only worked at the hotel for two weeks and carefully avoided drawing attention to herself. Hidden beneath her uniform was a small silver locket she had worn since childhood—the only thing left from the family she could no longer remember.

As Anna carried a tray of sparkling wine toward the VIP table, another guest accidentally stepped into her path. She lost her balance.

The tray slipped from her hands.

A glass of red wine splashed across Sophia's priceless diamond-white designer gown.

The ballroom fell into complete silence.

Sophia's face twisted with rage. Without thinking, she slapped Anna so hard that the young waitress crashed onto the marble floor. The tray shattered beside her, and a sharp piece of crystal cut her lip. Blood slowly trickled down her chin as whispers spread through the crowd.

Fighting back tears, Anna looked up at Sophia and quietly whispered,

"Happy birthday... big sister."

Sophia's anger instantly disappeared.

"What... did you just call me?"

With trembling hands, Anna reached beneath her uniform and slowly opened the silver locket around her neck. Inside was an old, faded photograph of two smiling little girls holding hands in front of a birthday cake. On the back, written in elegant handwriting, were the words:

"Never let my daughters be separated."

An elderly gentleman standing across the ballroom suddenly dropped his cane.

His hands began to shake.

Tears filled his eyes as he stared at the photograph.

His voice cracked with emotion.

"Anna..."

He took one slow step forward.

"My youngest daughter...

After twenty years...

May you like

You're finally home."

The entire ballroom stood frozen in stunned silence as a forgotten family secret changed every life in the room forever.
