DON’T TOUCH GRANDMA / Chapter 18 / 25

Chapter 18 - WHERE THE MONEY WENTThe forensic audit traced six hundred thousand dollars from the Grant trust.

Only part had moved offshore.

Two hundred thousand paid Malcolm, Dr. Cross, Colin Voss and false-care consultants.

Another amount purchased silence.

Teresa Flores had been threatened with a civil lawsuit.

Mara Ellis faced a fabricated theft accusation.

A school employee accepted money to alter Oliver’s counseling report.

The original report did not say he confused imagination with reality.

It said:

Oliver expresses consistent fear that his grandmother is being overmedicated. Immediate family review recommended.

Helena changed the report before sending it to Nathan.

The school counselor believed Nathan received the original.

Helena controlled the email account where it was delivered.

Nathan met with the counselor.

“Why didn’t you call me?”

“I did. Mrs. Grant answered your office line.”

Again, Helena placed herself between every warning and its destination.

The remaining trust money funded H.G. Legacy Management.

Helena planned to purchase a private estate in her name after selling Ruth’s mansion.

Financial files included architectural drawings.

The new property had a luxurious primary bedroom.

A smaller room was labeled Oliver.

There was no room for Nathan.

Helena planned a future with her son and the money, not her husband.

Another file contained a draft divorce petition accusing Nathan of neglect.

It requested full custody and extensive financial support.

The timing followed the planned removal of Ruth.

Once Nathan returned to find apparent chaos, Helena would pressure him to transfer assets.

Then she would leave with Oliver.

Nathan realized the scheme had two endings.

In one, he obeyed and remained married under Helena’s control.

In the other, she punished him financially and took their son.

Oliver’s love was included as something to possess.

The audit found one payment not yet explained.

Fifty thousand dollars went to a private transport company.

The scheduled service had not been canceled.

Pickup location: Grant mansion.

Passenger: Oliver Grant.

Date: that evening.

Police secured the property.

The transport company claimed the booking came with a court order.

The document was false.

It authorized removal of Oliver to a therapeutic facility.

Helena had planned to take him even after disappearing.

Nathan showed police the front gate.

At 7:00 p.m., a dark vehicle arrived.

Two men presented the false order.

Officers detained them.

They said a woman instructed them by encrypted message.

She claimed Oliver was dangerous and Nathan might resist.

The transport staff did not know the order was forged.

One carried a sedative kit approved for emergency use.

Nathan felt ill.

The same strategy used against Ruth would be used against Oliver.

Label him unstable.

Medicate resistance.

Turn fear into proof.

Investigators sent a controlled message saying the pickup succeeded.

Helena responded.

Bring him to Pier 14.

Police prepared an operation.

Oliver would not be used as bait.

An officer sat in the vehicle beneath a blanket while Nathan remained at the secured mansion.

At Pier 14, police found a small boat.

Its engine was running.

A woman stood beside it wearing a dark coat.

Officers ordered her to raise her hands.

She turned.

It was Helena.

Then she stepped backward and held up a remote control.

“If you come closer,” she said, “the Grant mansion burns.”
