Claudia lied automatically.

At Harrison residence.
Caleb’s name nowhere.
The event promoted a luxury networking venture Claudia and Grant were launching.
Guests paid annual membership.
Money.
That explained champagne at ten morning.
The party was business.
Milo was inconvenience.
Caleb arriving early was catastrophe.
Claudia had expected two days.
Enough to clean.
Restore family photos.
Move Grant’s items?
Maybe.
Avery found Grant had clothes in guest suite.
Toothbrush.
Laptop charger.
Mail.
Not proof affair, but presence.
Milo said:
“He sleeps here when party.”
Caleb didn’t need details yet.
Then event financial documents.
Claudia’s business CHM Social Ventures received $118,000 membership fees.
Expenses paid partly from joint Harrison accounts and Milo trust.
She argued loan.
No documentation.
Grant’s firm invoiced “brand development.”
Forty-eight thousand.
Another thirty.
Caleb:
“They built business using child’s money.”
Avery:
“Looks.”
Claudia’s attorney said all funds would be repaid and Claudia believed permitted as parent/trustee? Was she trustee? Need set. Milo's education trust maybe Caleb and Claudia co-trustees requiring both. How could she access? Maybe family investment account designated for Milo but not formal trust requiring both? To preserve legal plausibility, say "Milo's custodial investment account/family education account" rather than legally restricted trust, but prior chap called trust. We can clarify it was a family trust where Claudia had limited distribution authority for child's benefit and miscategorized withdrawals as enrichment/education events. Hmm. Let's say trust allowed parent-trustee reimbursements for child's education/welfare; she labeled transfers as "child enrichment/household educational programming" falsely. Caleb co-trustee signatures maybe electronic copy. That's fraud. Fine.
The party membership event had no relation Milo.
Misuse.
Then one invoice:
Youth enrichment staging — $8,500
What was that?
A party decorator.
They coded children’s area? No actual.
Avery:
“Creative accounting.”
Caleb looked sick.
Milo’s money paid flowers for event where he was locked outside.
That detail would later dominate story if public.
Caleb wanted privacy.
“No press.”
Avery:
“Good.”
Claudia had already begun telling friends Caleb came home “unstable.”
Damage control.
Messages:
He showed up in uniform and exploded.
Milo manipulated him.
I’m scared.
Caleb saw screenshots sent to mutual friends.
He laughed bitterly.
Same pattern:

Avery:
“Don’t chase.”
Court sees evidence.
Caleb muted social media.
At home he cooked pancakes.
Milo:
“You’re bad.”
“I’ve been gone.”
“That’s not excuse.”
Caleb laughed.
“Fair.”
Normal.
Then Milo said:
“Mom makes good pancakes.”
Caleb looked.
“You can miss things.”
Milo’s eyes filled.
“Am I bad if I miss her?”
“No.”
Important.
Claudia did harmful things.
Still mother.
Child can love.
Caleb refused loyalty test.
“Can I see her?”
At that moment temporary safety plan required supervised contact pending investigation.
Caleb didn’t decide alone.
Avery/court/professionals.
He said:
“We’ll talk with people helping.”
“Not never.”
Milo nodded.
This mattered.
Caleb would not become controller.
Then event guest Rachel sent additional photo from morning before Caleb arrived.
Milo in backyard near kennel at 8:15.
Behind glass door, Claudia and Grant laughing with guests.
Milo visible alone.
Photo accidental.
Timestamp.
Claudia’s claim he locked himself after tantrum around nine? Timeline.
Another guest video showed Claudia at 8:06 telling someone:
“Finally quiet.”
Milo had already been outside.
Grant’s key visible on table? Maybe too specific.
Then waiter staff from catering spoke:
A boy asked through side door for water.
Manager told them host said do not engage.
The caterer felt uncomfortable but complied.
Caleb’s fury surged.
Adults literally served drinks while child asked water outside.
Was it hot? Bright morning, not dangerously. Still.
One server secretly gave water through fence.
She later testified.
The party wasn’t for Caleb.
It was for image.
Connections.
Money.
And everyone participating had been instructed that Milo’s absence was intentional.
Claudia had transformed cruelty into event logistics.
Then final shock:
Event brochure listed future “Mercer Circle Residence.”
Location:
Harrison mansion.
Six upcoming events.
Claudia planned to turn home into ongoing business venue.
