# THE DIAMOND RING OF PALM BEACH

## Chapter 7: The Final Betrayal

The entire room followed Max's gaze.

Nobody spoke.

Nobody dared to move.

The old golden retriever stood in the middle of the Harrison mansion, his
body tense, his eyes locked on one person.

The person everyone believed was innocent.

The person everyone had trusted.

The person who had spent the entire night pretending to search for the
truth.

Max growled again.

A deep warning sound.

And slowly...

Everyone turned.

Toward Olivia Harrison.

---

For several seconds, nobody reacted.

Then Olivia laughed.

A small, nervous laugh.

"Me?"

She looked around.

"You have got to be joking."

Nobody answered.

Her smile disappeared.

"Max is old. He's confused."

Sarah Carter looked at her.

"No."

Olivia's expression changed.

"Excuse me?"

Sarah stepped closer.

"Max is old."

She looked at the dog.

"But he remembers."

The room became silent.

"Animals don't forget the people who hurt their family."

Olivia stared at Sarah.

"You think I did this?"

Sarah didn't answer immediately.

Instead...

She looked at the diamond ring.

"The ring was stolen because someone knew what was hidden
inside."

Richard nodded slowly.

"The memory card."

Sarah continued.

"Yes."

Michael stepped forward.

"But the ring was found in Ryan's pocket."

Sarah looked at Ryan.

"Because Ryan was supposed to be blamed."

Ryan clenched his fists.

"So someone planted it on me."

Sarah nodded.

"And they needed someone everyone already suspected."

Everyone understood.

Ryan's reputation.

His debts.

His reckless lifestyle.

He was the perfect target.

---

Olivia shook her head.

"This is ridiculous."

She pointed toward Sarah.

"You disappeared for fifteen years, and now you come back accusing
me?"

Sarah looked at her calmly.

"I didn't accuse you."

A pause.

"I only said Max knows."

Olivia looked at the dog.

"Then explain."

Sarah walked toward the table.

She picked up the envelope containing the old documents.

"Fifteen years ago, I discovered someone was stealing from the
Harrison Foundation."

She looked at Richard.

"I found the transfers."

Then she looked at Michael.

"I found the accounts."

Then...

She looked at Olivia.

"And I found the person who created the fake companies."

Olivia's face changed slightly.

A tiny movement.

But Sarah noticed.

Everyone noticed.

---

"No."

Olivia whispered.

"You don't know what you're saying."

Sarah smiled sadly.

"I know exactly what I'm saying."

She opened the folder.

Inside were copies of financial documents.

"The company used to steal the money was called Ocean Crest
Holdings."

Michael frowned.

"I remember that name."

Sarah nodded.

"Because it was registered under a false identity."

Richard looked at the papers.

"Who signed the documents?"

Sarah turned the page.

Then placed it on the table.

Everyone looked.

The signature.

The signature belonged to:

Olivia Harrison.

---

The silence was unbearable.

Richard stared at his daughter.

"No."

Olivia immediately stepped back.

"This is fake."

Sarah shook her head.

"No."

"You forged this."

"No."

Sarah's voice remained calm.

"Your father taught you something."

Olivia looked confused.

"What?"

"Never accuse someone without evidence."

Sarah pointed toward the papers.

"And I brought evidence."

---

Olivia's expression changed.

The elegant daughter.

The perfect socialite.

The woman who always appeared in magazines.

Disappeared.

A different Olivia appeared.

One filled with anger.

"You all think you know everything."

Her voice became colder.

"You think this family is perfect?"

She laughed.

"Look around."

She pointed at everyone.

"Mother lied about Ryan."

"Father hid Sarah's disappearance."

"Michael knew about the fraud."

She looked at Richard.

"You built this family on secrets."

Richard looked hurt.

"But you stole from it."

Olivia's eyes became emotional.

"You want to know why?"

Nobody answered.

She continued.

"Because I was tired."

---

Everyone looked confused.

Olivia walked toward the window.

"You gave Michael everything."

She looked at her brother.

"The company."

"The respect."

"The trust."

Then she looked at Ryan.

"And you protected Ryan."

Ryan looked away.

"Because he was the youngest."

Olivia laughed.

"But me?"

She touched her chest.

"I was always the daughter."

Not the heir.

Not the successor.

Just the daughter.

Richard stared at her.

"That doesn't justify stealing."

Olivia looked at him.

"No."

A pause.

"But it explains why someone was able to manipulate me."

Everyone froze.

"What?"

Sarah's eyes narrowed.

"Who manipulated you?"

Olivia looked toward the darkness outside.

Then whispered:

"Thomas Vale."

---

The room changed instantly.

Richard stepped forward.

"What did you say?"

Olivia looked at him.

"He contacted me six months ago."

Nobody moved.

"He told me things."

"What things?"

Olivia looked at her father.

"Things about this family."

She laughed bitterly.

"He knew every weakness."

Sarah nodded slowly.

"Because he helped build this family."

Olivia continued.

"He told me the Harrison empire was stolen from him."

Richard became angry.

"That is a lie."

"I know that now."

She looked at Sarah.

"But at first..."

Her voice cracked.

"I believed him."

---

Six months earlier...

Olivia received an anonymous package.

Inside was an old photograph.

A photograph of Richard and Thomas Vale.

A letter.

And proof that Thomas believed Richard had betrayed him decades ago.

Thomas told Olivia:

Your father erased me from history.

Your family took everything I built.

Help me expose him.

At first, Olivia refused.

But then Thomas showed her something else.

Something about the Harrison inheritance.

Something that changed everything.

---

"Thomas told me..."

Olivia whispered.

"That I wasn't supposed to inherit anything."

Richard frowned.

"What?"

"He said the Harrison fortune had a hidden legal
agreement."

Sarah's expression changed.

"What agreement?"

Olivia looked at her.

"The real heir."

Everyone became silent.

Ryan stepped forward.

"The real heir?"

Olivia nodded.

"Thomas said Richard's grandfather created a secret
clause."

She looked at Ryan.

"Only a biological Harrison descendant could control the entire
fortune."

Nobody spoke.

Because they understood.

Ryan's DNA secret.

The hidden truth.

---

Sarah slowly shook her head.

"Thomas lied to you."

Olivia looked surprised.

"What?"

Sarah opened another document.

"Because the inheritance clause was real."

Everyone froze.

"But Thomas didn't tell you the entire truth."

Richard looked at the document.

"What does it say?"

Sarah answered:

"The heir is not Ryan."

Everyone stared.

Ryan looked shocked.

"What?"

Sarah continued:

"The true heir is someone else."

---

Before anyone could ask...

The mansion lights suddenly turned off.

Again.

But this time...

Nobody panicked.

Everyone knew.

Someone was controlling the mansion.

A shadow moved through the hallway.

Max immediately ran.

Barking.

Everyone followed.

The figure moved toward the hidden vault.

Richard shouted:

"Stop!"

The person stopped.

Slowly...

They turned around.

And everyone froze.

Because the person standing there...

Was not Olivia.

Not Michael.

Not Ryan.

Not Eleanor.

It was...

Emily Carter.

---

Emily looked terrified.

"Mom..."

She whispered.

Sarah stared at her daughter.

"Emily?"

Nobody understood.

Richard stepped forward.

"Why are you near the vault?"

Emily's eyes filled with tears.

"I didn't want this to happen."

Michael frowned.

"What did you do?"

Emily looked at Sarah.

"I'm sorry."

Then she said something that destroyed everyone:

"My mother didn't disappear because someone attacked her."

Silence.

"She disappeared because she asked me to help her
disappear."

Sarah's face changed.

"Emily..."

Everyone turned toward Sarah.

Emily continued:

"Fifteen years ago, my mother gave me one instruction."

"Forget her."

"Never look for her."

"Never tell anyone."

Richard stared.

"Why?"

Emily looked at him.

"Because she was protecting me."

---

Sarah closed her eyes.

Because she knew the truth had finally arrived.

She looked at Emily.

"You weren't supposed to tell them."

Emily cried.

"I had to."

Sarah whispered:

"Why?"

Emily pointed toward the vault.

"Because what's inside there isn't evidence."

Everyone froze.

"What is it?"

Emily answered:

"It's the reason my mother survived."

A pause.

"And the reason someone tried to kill her."

---

The vault door slowly opened.

Inside...

There was only one item.

A small wooden box.

Richard approached.

He opened it.

Inside was a document.

And one photograph.

The photograph showed:

Sarah Carter.

Richard Harrison.

And...

A baby.

A baby wearing a small Harrison family bracelet.

Everyone looked at Ryan.

Then at the photograph.

Then at Sarah.

But Sarah whispered:

"No."

"This child is not Ryan."

Everyone froze.

Richard's hands trembled.

"Then who is it?"

Sarah looked at Emily.

And the answer shocked everyone.

"The real Harrison heir..."

"...is Emily Carter."
