Chapter 22 - VINCENT WITHOUT THE TABLEVincent changed too.

Not personality.

He remained Vincent Kane.

Quiet.

Sharp.

Intimidating.

Seven security men still accompanied him when risk required it.

The gold watch stayed.

Private table stayed.

Luxury stayed.

But once a month he ate in the staff dining area.

At first everyone hated it.

Too awkward.

Vincent realized.

So he stopped announcing visits.

Sometimes he just got coffee.

Asked one question.

Left.

No speeches.

Workers gradually became less afraid to answer.

One afternoon a line cook told him:

“The new scheduling app is terrible.”

Vincent almost laughed.

Two years earlier no one would have said that.

“Why?”

“It schedules closers at eight the next morning.”

“Show Cora.”

“Already did.”

Good.

He left.

No need to personally solve.
