“What happened before you went outside?”
Theo:
“I was looking for Dad.”
“Was Dad home?”
“No.”
“Where?”
“I don’t know.”
“Then?”
“I heard Grandma and red lady.”
“Do you know red lady name?”
“Cass…Cassandra.”
“What did they say?”
Theo:
“They said Dad has to sign before twelve.”
“Anything else?”
“They said my trust.”
“What is trust?”
Theo:
“Money Mom left.”
Good.
“What did you hear exact?”
Theo concentrated.
Cassandra:
Once Nolan signs, Theo cannot stop us later.
Lucille:
He’s seven.
Cassandra:
He won’t always be.

“What did you say?”
“I said don’t take Mom’s money.”
Nolan closed eyes behind glass.

Then Cassandra:
“Lucille, just send him upstairs.”
Lucille:
“He’ll come back down.”
“Ellis can keep him outside garden until Nolan arrives.”
Cassandra:
“In this weather?”
Lucille:
“It isn’t raining.”
Cassandra:
“Fine. Just make sure he doesn’t come near stage.”
There.

Theo looked scared.
“But you didn’t.”
“Because you told.”
“So I saved money?”
Nolan shook.
“No.”
“You told truth.”
“Adults then did jobs.”
“You are not responsible for money.”
Theo:
“But if I didn’t—”
“Still not your responsibility.”
This prevents child burden.
Theo nodded.
Then:
“Mom would be mad?”
Nolan smiled sadly.
“At me maybe.”
Theo laughed.
Good.
Julianne’s presence soft.
The boy’s revelation exposed conspiracy, but Nolan refused turn him into family savior.
