“Is that your signature?” I asked.
“Yes.”
“You knew he could not understand?”
“I suspected.”
“You signed anyway.”
He looked ill.
“Yes.”
Nathaniel had preserved one truth while validating another lie.
He withdrew as my personal counsel and reported his conduct to the bar.
