CHAPTER 2

CHAPTER 2
Someone in the Audience Was Watching the Comments
Samuel quietly ended the livestream.
The ballroom remained unaware of what had just happened.
The guests assumed the brothers were discussing business.
Only Adrian kept staring at the final comment.
DON'T LET HIM THROW IT AWAY.
He looked up.
"Who posted that?"
Samuel slipped the phone into his pocket.
"I don't know."
"You were reading them."
"I always read them."
Adrian shook his head.
"No."
"That wasn't a random comment."
Samuel's expression remained composed.
"I know."
For several seconds...
Neither brother spoke.
Finally Samuel admitted,
"I've received anonymous messages for nearly two weeks."
Adrian frowned.
"What kind of messages?"
"They all said the same thing."
"Your own family will betray you on your birthday."
Adrian felt his stomach tighten.
"So..."
"You expected me."
Samuel slowly nodded.
"I expected someone."
Adrian immediately opened his hand.
The silver packet was still there.
"You should have this tested."
Samuel didn't take it.
"You first."
Adrian looked confused.
"What?"
"If you trust what's inside..."
"...taste it."
The ballroom noise suddenly faded into the background.
Adrian stared at the packet.
"If I refuse..."
"You look guilty."
"And if I do?"
Samuel answered quietly.
"Then we'll both learn who's been lying."
Before Adrian could respond...
A woman in an elegant emerald evening gown hurried through the crowd.
She stopped beside Samuel.
"Sir..."
"The livestream account is receiving private messages."
Samuel frowned.
"What kind of messages?"
She handed him a tablet.
Only one new message appeared.
No name.
No profile picture.
Just a single sentence.
You're testing the wrong brother.
Samuel slowly looked back at Adrian.
For the first time that evening...
He wasn't sure who had walked into the trap.
