Chapter 22 - THE BOY WHO REMEMBERED EVERYTHINGEmmett does not actually remember everything.

Title ironic.
He remembers enough.
Therapy helps sequence without pressure.
He remembers man voice: Adrian.
He remembers Lenora crying once outside room.
He remembers she unlocked early one previous time and apologized.
This matters to complexity.
He remembers hidden room started as game.
He asks:
“Was I stupid to go in first time?”
“No.”
He was child.
He remembers seeing Adrian kiss Lenora in kitchen one night.
This adult detail he shares innocently:
“They were hugging with faces.”
Roland understands affair.
No need sexualize.
He remembers Lenora said:
“If you tell Dad about Adrian, he’ll think you’re trying to ruin us.”
Credibility manipulation.
His testimony can be avoided due plea, but therapist documents.
Emmett also admits he once threatened:
“I’ll tell Dad you and Adrian kiss.”
Lenora got scared.
This may have accelerated room misuse.
Again child not responsible.
He struggles with guilt.
Dr. Morton:
“Adults are responsible for what they do when a child says something uncomfortable.”
Good.
