Richard stops him.

Because Daniel still thinks the worst part was the punch.

“You hitting me wasn't what broke something between us.”
Daniel asks what was.
Richard answers:
“You decided who I was before you let me speak.”
Daniel has no defense.
Richard does not hug him.
Does not immediately forgive him.
