“I hired woman.”

“My son involved.”

“Search her.”

Instead:

silence.

Minutes mattered if Theresa still nearby.

Why?

Protect Nolan.

Margot admitted.

“I saw him break.”

“He said, ‘Mom, don’t say anything until lawyer.’”

“I listened.”

Elise:

“Poppy had just pointed at you.”

“I know.”

“You let me think you did it.”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“I thought if blame stayed on me briefly, Nolan could get counsel.”

This was even more shocking.

Margot intentionally absorbed suspicion to shield son.

“You ask Nolan if he ate.”

“You ask me to host dinner.”

Margot cried.

Family roles.

Poppy incident extreme expression.

Margot protected son from consequences, assumed Elise endure.
