## Chapter 11 — Helen Finally Speaks

The courtroom hearing was only three days away.

Meanwhile, Dr. Collins began an intensive speech therapy program with Helen.

Every morning, Daniel sat beside her.

He refused to miss another moment of his mother's recovery.

On the fourth morning, Helen struggled to form sounds.

Her lips trembled.

Her breathing became uneven.

Daniel gently squeezed her hand.

"Take your time, Mom."

"You don't have to rush."

Helen looked directly into his eyes.

Then...

Very slowly...

She whispered her first clear word since the stroke.

"Daniel..."

He froze.

Tears instantly filled his eyes.

"You said my name."

Helen smiled weakly.

A second word followed.

"Emma..."

Daniel nodded.

"I know."

"I believe her."

Helen closed her eyes with relief.

Then she forced herself to speak again.

"Victoria..."

She paused to catch her breath.

"...juice..."

"...medicine..."

Daniel felt his blood run cold.

His mother had just confirmed everything.

Dr. Collins quietly documented every word.

"This statement is medically valid."

"It can be presented in court."

For the first time since the nightmare began...

Helen had found her voice.

And with it...

Victoria's lies began to collapse.
