**The File**
Daniel discovered that Emily's missing file contained information
about a property inheritance.
Emily had inherited a valuable estate from her late father.
But there was a problem.
A second claimant had recently appeared.
The claimant argued that Emily's father's final will had been
altered.
The file contained evidence proving the original will was legitimate.
If the evidence disappeared...
Emily could lose millions.
Daniel finally understood Sophia's motive.
Money.
But Sophia had only been paid a fraction of what the property was
worth.

Daniel examined the original photograph again.
Then he noticed something.
A reflection in the glass behind Emily.
A second person.

Daniel enlarged it.
The face became visible.
His expression changed.
He recognized the man.
It was Richard Vale.
Emily's father's former attorney.
The attorney who had prepared the original inheritance documents.
Daniel immediately contacted the courthouse.
There was one disturbing discovery.
Richard Vale had filed a legal challenge against Emily's inheritance three
days before the attack.
Daniel whispered,
"Now we know why."
But another question remained.
