**The Truth Never Disappears**

Two years later, Emily returned to Beverly Hills Galleria.
She stood in the same marble atrium where her life had nearly changed
forever.
Her son, now a cheerful toddler, held her hand.
Lily walked beside them.
The fountain still stood in the center of the mall.
The same security camera remained above it.
Emily looked up.
Then smiled.
"Funny."
Lily looked at her.
"What?"
"That little camera saw everything."
Lily laughed.
"And so did I."
Emily hugged her.
Nearby, Daniel watched from a distance.
The case had become one of the strangest investigations of his
career.
It had started with an apparent family dispute.
A pregnant woman on the floor.
A woman claiming to be the victim.
And a little girl who refused to lie.
But beneath that simple incident had been a conspiracy involving stolen
money, manipulated evidence, corruption, surveillance, and murder.
The truth had survived because someone had asked the right questions.
Daniel turned toward the exit.
Then his phone vibrated.
A new message appeared.
UNKNOWN NUMBER.
There was no text.
Only a photograph.
Daniel opened it.
His expression changed.
The photograph showed Emily's family leaving the mall.
Taken only seconds earlier.
From across the street.
Daniel looked up sharply.
The street was crowded.
Cars moved through the intersection.
People walked along the sidewalks.
But the person holding the camera was gone.
Daniel stared at the photograph again.
On the back was a single sentence:
YOU FOUND THE FIRST TRUTH.
NOW FIND THE SECOND.
Daniel slowly lowered the phone.
Across the street...
A black car disappeared into traffic.
And somewhere inside it...
Someone was watching Emily.
