**The Man in the Cap**
Daniel replayed the footage again.
The unknown man stood near a luxury watch store.
His face was partially hidden.
But his behavior was clear.
He wasn't shopping.
He was watching Sophia.
Then Emily.
Then the security camera.
Daniel enlarged the image.
"Can we identify him?"
The technician shook his head.
"Not yet."
Daniel requested every camera covering the man's path.
The search revealed something disturbing.
The man had entered the mall forty minutes before Sophia.
He had never approached her.
He never spoke to her.
But he followed her.
Then...
He followed Emily.
Daniel returned to the hospital.
"Emily, have you ever seen this man?"
She stared at the photograph.
"No."
"Sophia?"
"No."
Daniel nodded.
Then Emily suddenly whispered,
"Wait."
"What?"
"I've seen his jacket."
"Where?"
"Outside my house."
Daniel's expression hardened.
"How many times?"
"Twice."
"Did you tell anyone?"
Emily shook her head.
"I thought he was a delivery driver."
Daniel left the room.
Outside, he called his partner.
"Find every report of suspicious activity around Emily's house during
the last month."
He paused.
"And find Mark Ellis."
Because the mystery was getting larger.
Sophia had lied.
Someone had erased the camera footage.
And now a stranger had been watching Emily.
The attack might have been planned...
But Sophia might not have been the person who planned it.
