Chapter 13 - THE WOMAN IN THE BLUE GOWN DOESN’T BREAKCambria expected Arielle to collapse.

Instead, Arielle returned to work.
Attended meetings.
Dined with friends.
Made no public accusations.
That enraged Cambria.
A scandal needed reaction.
Arielle refused.
Then Arielle did something unexpected.
She invited Cambria to lunch.
Cambria arrived twenty minutes late.
Power move.
Arielle was already eating.
“You started without me.”
“Yes.”
Cambria sat.
“What do you want?”
Arielle looked at her.
“To understand you.”
Cambria laughed.
“You lost your husband and now you want therapy?”
“I haven't lost anything I still want.”
That landed.
Cambria’s eyes sharpened.
Arielle continued.
“You planned the fall.”
“I don't know what you're talking about.”
“You knew where the camera was.”
Cambria’s smile vanished for half a second.
There.
Arielle saw it.
“The camera was off,” Cambria said.
Then froze.
Arielle leaned back.
Cambria realized.
Too late.
“I didn't say the camera was off.”
Silence.
Arielle smiled.
“Thank you.”
Cambria’s face changed.
She stood.
“You’re trying to trap me.”
“No.”
May you like
Arielle took another bite.
“You're doing that yourself.”
