Chapter 22 - THIS TIME, EVERYONE WATCHESEvelyn tried to leave.

Dorian stopped her.
Not physically.
“Stay.”
She looked at him.
For once, he sounded like himself rather than her son.
Arielle continued.
She did not reveal private financial documents unrelated to the matter.
She was precise.
The morality clause.
Trust implications.
Evelyn’s benefit from Dorian’s reputational crisis.
Kendra’s messages.
Cambria’s earlier relationship with Evelyn.
Not accusation beyond evidence.
Just facts.
People understood.
Cambria shouted:
“She offered me nothing!”
Arielle looked at her.
“I know.”
That surprised everyone.
Cambria froze.
Arielle continued.
“You didn't need money.”
Silence.
“You wanted access.”
Cambria’s face hardened.
“You think you’re better than me.”
“No.”
Arielle stepped down from the stage.
“I think you hurt another woman because someone promised you the room she was standing in.”
Cambria’s eyes filled.
For the first time, Arielle almost felt pity.
Almost.
Then Cambria looked at Dorian.
“Tell them you wanted me.”
Dorian’s face changed.
“I did.”
The room froze.
Arielle looked at him.
Dorian continued.
“One night.”
He did not hide.
“I betrayed my wife.”
Cambria stared.
Dorian said:
“That was my failure.”
Then he looked toward the video still behind them.
“But what you did afterward was yours.”
Cambria’s last protection disappeared.
She left.
