Chapter 15 - THE MOTHER-IN-LAW’S HANDKendra Moss agreed to talk because Evelyn fired her.

That was Evelyn’s mistake.
People stayed loyal while protection flowed both ways.
Once abandoned, loyalty became evidence.
Kendra met Marcus and Arielle in a rented conference room.
She was forty-six.
Elegant.
Terrified.
“I didn't know Dorian would hit you.”
Arielle’s expression hardened.
“Start at the beginning.”
Kendra swallowed.
“Mrs. Westbrook told me Cambria needed privacy to speak with you.”
“Privacy in a ballroom?”
“She wanted cameras disabled.”
“When?”
“Two days before.”
Arielle’s pulse changed.
“Did she say why?”
“She said family conversation.”
“Why the deletion flag?”
“She didn't want footage retained.”
“Did she know Cambria planned to fall?”
Kendra looked down.
“I heard them discussing ‘creating a moment.’”
Arielle’s chest tightened.
“Exact words?”
“Cambria said, ‘He needs to see her as unstable.’”
Arielle went still.
“And Evelyn?”
Kendra whispered:
“She said, ‘Then give him something he can’t unsee.’”
There it was.
Not explicit instruction to fall.
But conspiracy enough.
“Why tell me now?”
Kendra’s eyes filled.
“Because Mrs. Westbrook told lawyers I acted alone.”

Arielle almost smiled.
Evelyn had created her own witness.
