Leo Leads Them Underground

Henry stepped away from the door.

The voice outside called again.

"Henry, please."

Leo suddenly growled.

Then he ran toward the basement.

Henry followed.

The lion stopped beside an old wine cabinet.

He pushed against it.

The cabinet moved.

Behind it was a hidden passage.

Henry stared.

"My grandfather built this?"

Leo entered.

Henry followed with a flashlight.

The tunnel led beneath the estate.

After several minutes, they reached a steel door.

It was unlocked.

Inside was a small underground room.

Walls covered with documents.

Bank records.

Photographs.

Police reports.

And newspaper clippings.

Henry recognized his father's name.

He picked up a report.

CAUSE OF DEATH: VEHICLE ACCIDENT.

Then he noticed handwritten notes in Richard's handwriting.

ACCIDENT — FALSE.

Henry continued searching.

Another document revealed that millions had been transferred from Richard's company into offshore accounts.

The beneficiary was listed under a false name.

Daniel Reed.

Henry stopped.

Daniel.

The mysterious man.

He searched through the files.

A passport photograph appeared.

The face was different.

But the eyes were identical.

Daniel had survived the supposed accident.

He had disappeared for twenty years.

And Richard had known.

A final document contained a message:

I protected him because he was innocent.

Henry whispered,

"Then who killed my father?"

Leo suddenly turned toward the tunnel.

Someone was coming.

Footsteps echoed through the darkness.

Henry switched off the flashlight.

He and Leo waited silently.

The footsteps stopped outside the room.
