The Night Before His Death
Victor disappeared before Henry could reach the front door.
Henry drove toward Maine with Leo beside him.
During the journey, he replayed Richard's final video.
There had to be more.
He checked the USB drive again.
A hidden file appeared.
It contained security footage from the night before Richard died.
Richard entered his study at 11:47 p.m.
Victor arrived five minutes later.
They argued.
Victor slammed a folder onto the desk.
Richard pointed toward the door.
Victor left.
Then another person entered.
Thomas.
Henry watched closely.
Thomas handed Richard a glass.
Richard drank.
Thirty minutes later, Richard collapsed.
Henry stopped the video.
The glass.
He remembered Dr. Carter mentioning poisoning.
Could Thomas have poisoned Richard?
Then another detail appeared.
Before leaving, Thomas took the glass.
But he didn't destroy it.
He placed it inside a locked cabinet.
Henry wondered why.
Suddenly, Leo growled.
Henry looked through the windshield.
A black SUV was following them.
He accelerated.
The SUV followed.
Henry turned onto a narrow road.
The vehicle stayed behind.
Then Leo suddenly barked toward the back seat.
Henry looked into the rearview mirror.
There was another car behind the SUV.
They were being followed by two vehicles.
Henry called Daniel.
"We have company."
Daniel replied,
"Do not go to the Maine house."
"Why?"
"Because they know where it is."
Henry asked,
"Where should I go?"
Daniel answered,
"Back to the cemetery."
Henry frowned.

"Because Richard left the final clue there."
