Ethan had installed new security cameras after a string of neighborhood burglaries.

Faced directly toward the garden staircase.
David hurried into the mansion's security room.
The monitor was black.
He frowned.
Someone had turned the recording system off.
He checked the storage server.
Several files from that evening were missing.
Not corrupted.
Deleted.
David immediately called Ethan.
"The garden footage is gone."
Silence.

"Only tonight?"
David checked again.
"Yes."
"Every recording before and after is still there."
