She expected Audra to beg for money.

She expected Caleb to miss mansion.
He missed Lucia.
Not mansion.
Camille’s attempt to step into Grant’s role at company went badly.
She understood family relationships.
Not operations.
Executives grew nervous.
Beatrice insisted.
“Grant will return.”
Weeks passed.
Grant did not.
Then a major client, Callahan Industries, requested review meeting.
Beatrice expected ordinary.
Instead they asked:
“Will Grant attend?”
“He is on leave.”
“We would prefer him.”
“Why?”
Chairman Henry Callahan replied:
“Because he negotiated our restructuring six years ago.”
Beatrice remembered.
Henry’s company almost collapsed.
Montgomery Group wanted acquire cheaply.
Grant argued against predatory deal.
He helped Henry refinance and keep company.
Beatrice had called it sentimental.
Henry never forgot.
