Chapter 21 - HENRY CALLAHANHenry Callahan was sixty-eight and hated unnecessary suits.

He appeared at Grant’s rental house on Saturday wearing old tweed jacket.
Grant opened door.
“Mr. Callahan?”
“Henry.”
“What are you doing here?”
“I heard you quit.”
“Not exactly.”
“You left.”
“Yes.”
Henry smiled.
“Good.”
Grant stared.
“That’s unusual response.”
Henry held folder.
“I don’t need another Montgomery heir.”
“I need the man who once stopped his own company from gutting mine because he thought it was wrong.”
Grant looked at folder.
“What is this?”
“Callahan Industries is opening logistics and manufacturing strategy division.”
“I want you to run it.”
Grant laughed in disbelief.
“Henry.”
“I’m serious.”
“You know what’s happening with my family?”
“Yes.”
“Then you know taking me could cost Montgomery relationship.”
“I survived without Montgomery once.”
Henry looked inside house.
Audra stood behind with Caleb.
Henry’s expression softened.
“That your boy?”
Grant’s voice changed.
“Yes.”
“My son.”
Henry nodded.
“Good.”
Then to Grant:
“Can you start Monday?”
Grant looked at Audra.
She smiled.
Not permission.
Partnership.
May you like
Grant turned back.
“Yes.”
