Victoria arrived believing Daniel wanted to apologize.
Instead, she found his attorneys waiting inside the library.
Benjamin Lawson placed Sarah's will on the table.
Victoria immediately recognized the document.
Her confidence began to disappear.
Daniel remained standing.
"We know everything."
Victoria forced a nervous laugh.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Benjamin quietly slid several printed photographs across the table.
Security camera images.
The slap.
The locked bedroom.
The discarded flowers.
Victoria stopped smiling.
Daniel spoke calmly.
"You lied to me."
"You abused my daughter."
"You violated Sarah's final wishes."
Victoria suddenly became angry.
"So what?"
"Sarah is dead."
"I'm your wife now."
"This house belongs to us."
Benjamin interrupted.
"No."
"It never did."
He opened the will.
"Under the Carter Family Trust..."
"The master bedroom belongs to Lily until adulthood."
Victoria stared in disbelief.
Benjamin continued.
"Because of your actions..."
"You have forfeited every financial benefit provided by this marriage."
Victoria's face turned white.
"You can't do this."
Daniel quietly answered,
"I already have."
He handed her divorce papers.
