## Chapter 19 — Lily Keeps Her Mother's Promise Alive
Years passed.
Lily grew into a confident young woman.
On her eighteenth birthday, Benjamin Lawson officially transferred Sarah's protected room into Lily's ownership, exactly as the will had instructed.
The first thing Lily did surprised everyone.
She refused to remodel it.
Instead, she transformed it into the Sarah Carter Foundation Library, a quiet reading room for children whose families had experienced loss.
Every bookshelf carried Sarah's favorite novels.
Every child who entered received a free book.
Above the fireplace, the family portrait remained exactly where it had always belonged.
During the opening ceremony, Lily smiled at the gathered guests.
"My mother believed love should never disappear simply because someone does."
"So this room will never belong to sadness again."
Daniel stood in the audience with tears in his eyes.
He had never been prouder.
