Atlas Remembers

The old mission code led them to a military storage archive.

The building was nearly abandoned.

Inside, rows of metal cabinets held decades of classified records.

Samuel knew exactly where to look.

Cabinet 0719.

The lock had already been broken.

Henry's heart sank.

Someone had been there before them.

Most of the files were missing.

But one remained.

William Dawson.

Henry opened it.

Inside was a handwritten statement.

It described a secret extraction during Black Ridge.

Seven soldiers had survived.

Not died.

Survived.

They were transported to an underground facility.

The facility had no official designation.

The soldiers were held there because they had witnessed something.

A weapons transfer.

Illegal.

And extremely valuable.

Henry stared at the page.

"Grandpa knew."

Samuel nodded.

"What happened to the soldiers?"

William had written only one sentence.

"One escaped."

The name was missing.

But there was a photograph.

Michael Reed.

Samuel nearly collapsed.

"My son."

Henry placed a hand on his shoulder.

Then Atlas entered the archive.

The dog walked directly toward a cabinet.

He stopped.

He sniffed.

Then scratched the bottom.

Henry opened it.

Inside was another photograph.

William and Michael.

Together.

Taken years after Black Ridge.

Samuel began crying.

"He found him."

Henry nodded.

"But why didn't Michael come home?"

The answer was written on the back.

**Because he was still being hunted.**

Suddenly the lights went out.

A door slammed somewhere in the darkness.

Atlas growled.

Titan moved in front of Henry and Samuel.

Then they heard footsteps.

Someone was inside the archive with them.
