The Secret Under the Cemetery

The photograph changed everything.
William had been working with Michael.
And Whitaker had known.
Henry studied the image.
"Why would a general help them?"
Edward answered.
"He didn't."
"Then why is he there?"
"Because they caught him."
The photograph had been taken secretly.
Michael and William had confronted Whitaker.
They had demanded the truth.
Whitaker had confessed that the illegal operation was controlled by a private military contractor.
The company had supplied weapons to both sides of a conflict.
The government had paid them to keep it secret.
The seven soldiers had accidentally discovered the operation.
That was why they were imprisoned.
Henry looked at Samuel.
"Then William spent twenty years trying to expose it."
"Yes."
"Why didn't he go public?"
Edward answered.
"Because he needed proof."
"And he found it?"
Edward nodded.
"Two weeks before he died."
Henry's heart raced.
"Where is it?"
Edward looked toward Atlas.
"The dogs know."
Henry frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"William trusted those dogs more than anyone."
Edward explained that William had hidden the final evidence somewhere only Atlas and Titan could lead them.
Henry stared at the dogs.
"How?"
Edward smiled sadly.
"William trained them to find a specific scent."
"What scent?"
"His old military trunk."
Henry suddenly remembered.
The trunk.
The one from the funeral.
It contained the photographs.
But perhaps there was something else.
They returned to the Dawson estate.
Atlas walked directly toward the basement.
He stopped before an old wall.
Titan joined him.
Together they stared at one section.
Henry touched it.
A hollow sound came from behind.
There was a hidden room.
