Chapter 2 — The Push on the Marble Floor

# The Little Girl Who Told the Truth
## Chapter 2 — The Push on the Marble Floor
Emily stopped near the large marble fountain in the center of the mall.
She took out her phone, smiling as she admired a tiny pair of baby shoes she had just purchased.
"I can't wait to show David," she whispered.
Just then, Sophia quietly approached from behind.
"Emily!"
Emily turned with a bright smile.
"Sophia! I didn't know you were here."
"I've been shopping," Sophia replied pleasantly.
"What a coincidence."
They exchanged a brief hug.
For a moment everything seemed perfectly normal.
The sisters-in-law chatted about the baby, the nursery, and Emily's upcoming maternity leave.
Nearby shoppers continued walking past without paying attention.
Then Emily turned to continue toward the parking garage.
She had taken only two steps.
Sophia glanced quickly around.
No one appeared to be watching her directly.
Without warning...
She thrust both hands hard against Emily's shoulder.
The force caught Emily completely off guard.
She stumbled forward.
Her foot slipped on the polished marble floor.
"No..."
She desperately reached toward a nearby bench.
Her fingers touched only empty air.
A second later...
She crashed violently onto the marble floor.
The sound echoed through the shopping mall.
Emily cried out in pain.
Both hands immediately wrapped around her stomach.
"My baby..."
Only seconds after Emily hit the floor...
Sophia threw herself backward dramatically.
She landed several feet away.
Then she screamed loudly enough for the entire shopping center to hear.
