Lily sat quietly inside the mall security office with her parents beside her.
Officer Lawson smiled warmly.

"I just need you to tell me exactly what you saw."
Lily nodded.
She took a deep breath.
"The lady in white walked behind the pregnant lady."
"Then she pushed her."
Officer Lawson asked gently,
"Did the pregnant lady touch her first?"
Lily shook her head immediately.
"No."
"She didn't even know the other lady was behind her."
Her mother squeezed her hand proudly.
Jennifer compared Lily's statement with the surveillance footage.
Every detail matched perfectly.
The direction of the push.
The timing.
Even the distance between them.
Officer Lawson closed her notebook.
"Thank you."
"You've been incredibly brave today."
Lily looked confused.
"I just told the truth."
Jennifer smiled.
