Season 2 Chapter 14 — The Last Harrison Trial

Daniel destroyed the tracking device before Ethan returned home.
Neither of them spoke during the drive.
Because both understood the same terrifying truth.
The enemy no longer needed to hide.
They wanted Ethan to continue.
They were guiding him somewhere.
The question was why.
---
Back inside the mansion, Sophie was drawing at the kitchen table.
She smiled the moment Ethan entered.
"Daddy, someone left me a present."
Emily looked alarmed.
"I already checked it."
It was a small wooden music box.
No sender.
No fingerprints.
Inside, a tiny paper crane.
Nothing else.
Daniel examined it carefully.
Hidden beneath the base...
another message.
"The Third Archive opens at midnight."
No address.
Only coordinates.
---
Against Daniel's advice, Ethan went alone.
The coordinates led to an abandoned railway tunnel beneath downtown Los Angeles.
At exactly midnight...
a steel door slowly unlocked by itself.
Inside stretched a long underground corridor.
Every wall was covered with filing cabinets.
Thousands.
Perhaps millions.
Each labeled only by year.
The Archivist hadn't collected money.
He had collected history.
Every secret.
Every betrayal.
Every crime.
Preserved forever.
---
At the end of the corridor stood a single desk.
No one sat there.
Only a sealed envelope bearing Ethan's name.
His hands trembled as he opened it.
Inside was another letter.
Not from his father.
Not from Richard.
From someone calling themselves...
"The Archivist."
The message was chilling.
"Your father believed truth could save the world.
He was wrong.
Truth destroys everything.
Soon...
you will decide whether humanity deserves it."
---
Before Ethan could react...
every light inside the archive suddenly shut off.
Darkness swallowed the tunnel.
Then footsteps echoed behind him.
Slow.
Calm.
Deliberate.
Someone whispered only six words.
"You've finally arrived, Mr. Harrison."
Ethan turned toward the voice.
But all he could see...
was darkness.
